Victoria Restrictions from 11:59pm, Thursday 3rd June

With 60 local cases and more than 350 exposure sites, and a variant of the virus that is quicker and more contagious, the Chief Health Officer has given the advice for the current restrictions to remain in place in Melbourne for a further seven days, with some small changes.

For metropolitan Melbourne, there will still be only five reasons to leave home: shopping for food and supplies, authorised work and study, care and caregiving, exercise, and getting vaccinated. People will be able to travel further for exercise and shopping, with an expanded 10km radius.

Restrictions in regional Victoria will be eased from 11:59pm, Thursday 3rd June, which means business can return to providing routine care, with the exception of group classes which are not permitted at this time. Outdoor group classes are permitted to a maximum of 10 people and a density quotient of 1 person per 4sqm applies. Masks must be worn indoors at all times.

In regional Victoria if you can work from home, you should continue to work from home. Capacity limits in workplaces such as offices are capped at 50% or 20 people, whichever is greater.

Please be aware of the restrictions that apply to you, and sticking to them to help in stopping the spread – and getting the state of Victoria back to normal.
